Cowboys Lose!!!

Chokin' it up in overtime. Giants lead the NFC East.

My only question is why the hell didn't Ron Dayne bust a run like that when he played for the Giants?

On a personal note, I brought home more turkey leftovers tonight than I have from any other Thanksgiving - ever! Whoo-Hoo!

Now the Mrs. wants me to sit through "Cold Mountain". And my 9-year old gets to watch Star Wars: A New Hope on DVD. Damn.

1 I was watching the game when that 250lb monster started huffing down the gridiron. I said to my dad, if they dont try to make a field-goal they deserve to loose. They booted it on a first down. Smart, never risk a turnover for a few points.

2 "Dear Gary", do I think your blog is funny and clever? In fact, more often than not I do. Do you I share your tastes? Some I certainly do: take Diane Lane (not literally), who I think is most enchanting, and then there's The Lord of the Rings, which I absolutely love (both the books and the films I've enjoyed many times). Albeit that your blog is entertaining and all that, here's something that you need to hear: you use a lot of words, and you have a lot of attitude, both of which you direly need indeed to mask your lack of moral depth, to cover the abyss that your value-system has become, and wherefrom, instead of profound, heart-felt humanity and empathy, emenates the Nothingness that is the scentless, tasteless drug of Modern Man, who is a slave of ignorance, and therefore, of Evil (yes, I like big words too, just like George W.). I don't think you're personally evil, that's not my point, but judging from the way you defend the Bush Doctrine and its global fall-out you have chosen to blatantly ignore the gruesome facts that Republican America apparently only needed a few excuses to start killing thousands of innocent people and torturing of prisoners of war, of which many are innocent too, to mention but two of the countless reasons why the Republicans, needing only a few excuses and little time to become dangerously indifferent to the intertwined fates of historical fact and political ethics, are hypocrits that are totally unfit to represent, let alone defend, any moral values that can be considered worthwhile by intelligent people, meaning people that are responsible and brave enough to engage in independent critical thought processes. I am glad that you don't use the name of Gandalf anymore, for how far you'd fall behind, or more probably betray The Fellowship of the Ring, which was on a quest to destroy the very things that you defend. Let's continue this metaphor, as you're so fond of them... Bush's vision of the world is not from a Gandalf-perspective, it's from a Sauron-perspective, and like a New World Ork, his loyalties are Mordor-bound. In the language of Doom: "Be with us or be against us"; who's "us"? The world is a big place, "Gary", so where does it end, this "War on Terror", this "justifiable war", this "war to end all wars"? Rethorical question, of course, so don't bother. War = terror. Read some real history books, for God's sake, and reconsider your points of view. My father actually was in a (Japanese) prison-camp, as a boy in WWII, and what he innocently went through, gradually destroyed his spirit, which obviously profoundly affected me also; that is a true example of the reach of historical fact that should be thoroughly considered, before claiming rights on the crown of moral authority. Do you talk like this in real life? Sounds to me more like you've been "profoundly affected" by getting your ass kicked and your lunch money stolen too many times.

4 No, I don't talk like this in real life, and it isn't "talking" but "writing", a form of expression that some people use to communicate complex thoughts and ideas, and I was stupid enough to communicate them to someone who has no idea what "real life" is, though through the small percentage of your intellectual faculties that you use you make yourself believe that your version of it actually is. And I thought I was sad.

5 Well, it comes across more as "whining" than anything else. Your tone is too pedantic and pretentious to take seriously. And yes, you are sad. See, we agree on something.

6 Jeez, dude. Someone kick sand in your face??

7 Hell no, I'm enjoying this. I think I may have made that guy cry.

8 Hey! Jan-Peter! Nobody's making you come here. DON'T READ THE BLOG! Get your own. Have a nice day, .....Dan

9 Hey Dan. You know these trolls?

Posted by: Gary at November 25, 2005 06:01 PM (0eYgQ)

10 Thank God, no! Although they're along the same vein as the gambling trollers that hit my blog -- useless leeches that are not willing to contribute back to society. I find it ironic that I am commenting on a post that commemorates my Boys' loss. We have a kicker for sale. Anyone wanna trade? We would've won the game if he'da made that field goal. Putz! Cheers, Gary!

11 For the life of me I can't figure out why I get left-wingers reading this blog and coming back day after day. This guy remembers when I used to have a "handle" instead using my first name. That was ages ago. I only thing I can figure is that they come here looking for a little levity. Ever read a Liberal blog? Some of the most humorless people I've ever encountered. And they take themselves so freaking seriously it makes my hair hurt. If I run into a moonbat site, I just move along. What's the point?

Posted by: Gary at November 25, 2005 06:17 PM (0eYgQ)

12 Exactly! We don't force our viewpoints in their arenas. Let 'em believe what they want to believe. However, they feel "enlightened" and licensed to shove their drivel outside of their turf. And then get their panties in a wad when some kind of resistence is shown. I say grow up or move on. There sure are more important things in life. Keep the faith, Gary!
