The "No" party...

William Voegeli has an excellent article in the WSJ online edition this a.m. about the denial running rampant through the Dems these days. In the wake of the election, first they blame the voters for being stupid, then they blame the candidate for being ineffectual and then they conclude that they didn't play hardball enough.

And yes, they didn't get their "message" out. First of all, the only message coming from them these days is "if George W. Bush is for it, we're against it."

There was a time when Democrats were considered the visionary party, the party of reform and the party of ideals. That pretty much started to change in the summer of 1968 and now they've become the reactionary party - the "no" party.

Voegeli puts gives a nice summary of the party that is (like the premise of "Seinfeld") about nothing. See: "The Endless Party".
