The Mentality Of Our Enemies

Cicero at WindsOfChange.net found a five-year old article that recounts a story of torture in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. The atrocities speak for themselves. But Cicero makes an important observation from this story.

I was struck by the commander who said, 'I want to kill a very bad pagan among the prisoners to receive more blessing from Allah." I think his reasoning is emblematic of what we're up against with respect to Islamic fascism. We in the West desperately want to believe that we can find common, rational ground and negotiate with Islamic fascists. The Commander exemplifies why negotiation, in the end, is folly. For them, they merely buy time with negotiation. Their life on Earth is not important; it's what comes after that matters. We should be mindful of that while we lodge complaints to Iranian mullahs who race towards making isotopes.
This is something the peaceniks - or the appeasers - just don't understand. To those who say "war is never justified" I would point out that, whether they want to admit it or not, war is being made on the United States and the Western world. For those who purposely target and murder the innocent in the name of Wahabism, this war won't be over until all the world follows the tenets of Islam or until all those who refuse are dead. We can either do whatever we can to fight this, or we can simply accept it as inevitable.

Bury your head in the sand at your own peril.

2 "Bury your head in the sand at your own peril." Would that it were that simple. You also bury your head in the sand at my peril. I need you to stand with me to fight these people for all our sakes yet you are AWOL when it matters most.

3 M'kay. Could be just a little more cryptic? Who are you and what the hell are talking about?
