Shining the light on the shadow of hypocrisy...

George Neumayr in The American Spectator Online makes an excellent point.

He writes how, in the SOTU, Bush pays tribute to the soldiers by saluting the parents of the fallen marine, Sgt. Byron Norwood:

The Marine helped overthrow a regime that indisputably had ties to Al Qaeda. And he performed the most basic act of civilization, protecting the weak against the wicked. Under Saddam Hussein, Iraqis lost their fingers. Now they raise their fingers after voting against his dwindling followers. Had John F. Kennedy accomplished such an epoch-changing shift in Iraq, the Democrats would have nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. Instead, they castigate Bush for turning into reality the ennedyesque rhetoric of liberty they once lauded.
Unfortunately, John Kennedy was - in my opinion - the last great Democrat. The current Kennedy in the parties hierarchy - Tailspin Teddy (who was notably absent for last nights speech) - has become a joke. Old Joe Kennedy would be ashamed today.
