OK, so I've slammed NetFlix in the past because of their "throttling" shenanigans. But since I finished with the old seasons of "24", things started to get a little better. Sure, they still pulled their little tricks now and again but being as I mostly watch movies on the weekend (with the occasional one just for me during the week), it wasn't that big a deal.

I thought I had seen everything. But I hadn't. Check this out. I had "Chicken Little" (for my son and his cousin to watch on Saturday) and "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" shipping on Tuesday for delivery yesterday. I go to the mailbox yesterday when I get home from work and there's Stewie but no Chicken Little. Hmmm. Ok, so I'll get it Thursday, right? Friday, the latest.

Not only did I NOT get "Chicken Little" but when I logged on this morning, the main screen asked me to "rate my return" for that movie. They recorded it as being sent out and returned within two days - which is physically impossible under their system!!!! The fastest turnaround can only ever be four days (e.g., sent Tuesday, received by me Wednesday, returned Thursday and received by NetFlix on Friday).

Now not only do I have to blow one of my rentals on a movie that I never got, I have to throw "Chicken Little" back into my queue and hope and pray that the damn thing ships today and delivers tomorrow so I can take it with me where I'm going this weekend. Otherwise, the kid gets screwed.

This is by far the worst thing NetFlix has ever done. Ok, taking a week to send the final disc of "24", season three, was the worst. But this is almost a tie by virture of the fact that 1) clearly the movie didn't ship when they said it did which is a complete and total LIE and 2) it potentially screws up my weekend plans.

BASTARDS!!!!!!

UPDATE: 12:00pm
This is bizarre. I never did "rate" the Chicken Little DVD (why should I? I never got it). I did however put it back in my queue - at the top to replace the one they say was returned.

I checked back just now and Chicken Little WASN'T in my queue. I don't mean it wasn't at the TOP of my queue. I mean it was no longer IN the queue. WTF?

I put it back in. The status of my next shipment, fortunately or unfortunately, still said "we expect to ship your next selection today". Something wasn't right, however.

I went back. I "rated" the Chicken Little DVD. I went out of the website. Then I went back in. Chicken Little was now in my "at home" list labeled "shipping today" and also listed at the top of my queue. Very freaking weird. Was rating the DVD acting as a "trigger" to release my next movie from the queue?

So now I have taken the second Chicken Little out of my queue. It should ship today and arrive tomorrow. So help me, if I go back this afternoon and it says "shipping Friday" I'll lose my mind.

1 I haven't had any issues with Netflix ... yet (about 3 months). I'm not looking forward to the day I do either. The only thing I could think of is maybe there was some misprint address on your envelope and it was returned to sender and they marked it as a return... maybe, possibly? Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald's relentless (and fruitless) pursuit of a well-photographed "frog march" for Karl Rove fizzled (or should I say, "Fitz-led"). The primary reason - his case is bullshit, always has been. The editors of OpinionJournal.com put it plainly:

"In the end, it seems Mr. Fitzgerald was trying to trap Mr. Rove over the minor matter of his failure to remember a conversation with Time reporter Matthew Cooper. But Mr. Rove is the one who later volunteered information about the conversation to Mr. Fitzgerald, after a check of White House records reminded him of it. A perjury or obstruction accusation based on that inconsequential discrepancy would have been prosecutorial misconduct.

The Rove decision also finally discredits the accusation that there was some grand White House conspiracy to smear Mr. Wilson. Mr. Fitzgerald has brought no charges concerning the original leak, which means there was no underlying crime. His entire case--and this entire "scandal"--has been distilled to charges of perjury and obstruction against one man, former Vice Presidential Chief of Staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

And that one case comes down to nothing more than the fact that Mr. Libby's memory of conversations with three reporters differs from that of the reporters themselves. Think we're exaggerating? Here's how the judge in the case, Reggie B. Walton, summarized it in a recent ruling on evidence: "The charges against the defendant are based entirely [our emphasis] upon what the defendant has said was discussed during his conversations with these news reporters."

The image of Fitzgerald as a partisan (and incompetent) hack will be reinforced in the minds of anyone who does not refer to the President as Chimpy McHitler on a regular basis. And the lump of Fitzmas coal left yesterday in the Left's stocking will morph into a dry, stale turd.

And - once again - I will giggle myself silly.

NRO's Byron York attended the YearlyKos Moonbat Convention this weekend. Their fearless leader, Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, juiced up the...ahem...crowd of roughly one thousand supporters (which would be comparable to a middle-sized high school assembly) with a rousing speech about all their past "victories". Now, the definition of "victory" for the Kos Kidz is not necessarily winning anything. It's more along the lines of, well, being noticed by the MSM media. York explains:

The odd thing was that Moulitsas’s victories weren’t actually victories. 2003 might have been the year of candidate Howard Dean, but 2004 was the year in which the Democratic presidential nominee was actually chosen—and Dean lost. And while 2005 was indeed the year Dean ascended to the top of the DNC, it would be a mistake to attribute his victory mostly to Moulitsas’s influence. And Paul Hackett, a Moulitsas favorite who ran for a seat in the House from Ohio in 2005—well, he lost. And so did more than a dozen other candidates who ran with Moulitsas’s support.

What’s more, some of them lost in part because they said the kind of things that bring cheers on the DailyKos but that turn off many voters. Hackett not only called President Bush a “chickenhawk,” he also said—echoing earlier statements by Moulitsas himself—that “the Republican party has been hijacked by the religious fanatics that, in my opinion, aren’t a whole lot different from Osama bin Laden.” Voters thought he was a bit over the top—just like some of the bloggers who supported him.

But that doesn’t appear to give Moulitsas pause—or reason for reflection. Instead, on Thursday night, with his face shining down on his followers from large screens on both ends of the stage, he fused the two worlds of the liberal blogosphere—the world of overweening confidence and the world of resentment at those who don’t recognize the Kossacks’ extraordinary power.

“Look at each other,” Moulitsas told his followers. “Look left and right. There have been so many efforts to marginalize us by the media and political elite because we had the temerity to feel passionate about politics. How dare us riff raff demand a voice in our democracy?”

They can’t keep us out any longer, Moulitsas said. We’re going to crash the gates. “People power is a wonderful thing. Everyone can be a leader. Everyone can be a strong voice. Everyone can make a difference. There has been far too much talent, far too much passion, far too much intelligence in this country marginalized by the establishment currently stinking up Washington D.C. And now, that talent has an outlet. It can no longer be marginalized.”

If this isn't a childish breed of narcissism, I don't know what is.

Michael Barone writes this morning about the appalling comments from Reps. Pete Stark, "Baghdad" Jim McDermott and others about the news of al-Zarqawi's elimination and how it's directly related to why Democrats keep losing.

"Nevertheless the Stark-McDermott-Kucinich reaction, echoed and amplified, often scatologically, by dozens of commenters on the popular dailykos.com and myDD.com left-wing Websites, tells us something disturbing about the Democratic Party -- and provides a clue why Democrats were unable to eke out a win in last week's special congressional election in the 50th congressional district of California.

It comes down to this: A substantial part of the Democratic Party, some of its politicians and many of its loudest supporters do not want America to succeed in Iraq. So vitriolic and all-consuming is their hatred for George W. Bush that they skip right over the worthy goals we have been, with some considerable success, seeking there -- a democratic government, with guaranteed liberties for all, a vibrant free economy, respect for women -- and call this a war for oil, or for Halliburton.

Successes are discounted, setbacks are trumpeted, the level of American casualties is treated as if it were comparable to those in Vietnam or World War II. Allegations of American misdeeds are repeated over and over; the work of reconstruction and aid of American military personnel and civilians is ignored."

Remember the Monty Python "Dead Parrot" Sketch? The one where John Cleese pounds the stiff deceased bird on the pet shop counter? "Hello Polly!!!!! Wakey, Wakey!!!! I've got a lovely fresh cuttle fish for you!"

Well here's story almost as funny but it's true. A woman in Missouri attacked a dog breeder with a stiff deceased dog!

"A woman angry that her new puppy had died pushed her way into a dog breeder's home and repeatedly hit her on the head with the dead Chihuahua, authorities said.

The 33-year-old woman told police she had taken the puppy to a veterinarian, who said it was only 4 weeks old and needed to be returned to its mother. But before she could return the puppy, it died.

Early Wednesday, the woman went to the breeder's home, pushed her way inside and began fighting with the breeder as she tried to make her way to the basement to get another puppy, police said.

The breeder wrestled the woman out of her house to the front porch, where the woman then hit the breeder over the head numerous times with the dead puppy, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported, citing police.

As the woman drove away, she waved the dead puppy out of the car's sunroof and yelled threats at the breeder, police said. She later called the breeder and threatened her and her family, according to court records."

Every once in a while I like to run through the ol' official Ex-Donkey blogroll and weed out the dead wood to make room for some new blood (new to me, that is).

In the old days I used to scroll through the referrels on Sitemeter looking for good blogs to add. But I just don't have time for that nowadays. More often than not I come across sites from commenters or emails that I get.

Being as it's Friday, I wanted to highlight three new links on the 'roll:

1) Conservative Propaganda - Former USAF, now a self-described "computer geek in the DC area". His posting frequency is lower than average, but the content makes it worth checking back from time to time.

2) This Is Freedom Country - Let it never be said that the Ex-Donkey is not open to differing opinions. Here's a former Liberal turned Libertarian. Okay, that's about as differing as I can deal with. I often disagree with many Libertarians but they usually make good points. NRO's Jonah Goldberg once compared Libertarians to the celtic barbarians that the Medieval Britons would often hire out as mercenaries; they're useful in a fight, but you wouldn't want one sitting on the throne.

3) Here's one I first read today: Say No To P.C.B.S. You have to love a blog when it's first post reads: "Welcome To Thunderdome - I take a stand against the evil that is the liberal left, and thus it begins." Liberal girlie-men, beware!

Markos Moulitsas Zuniga (aka Kos) is now 0-20 for candidates he and his band of Lefty nutcases have backed thanks to Brian Bilbray's win in the CA-50 Congressional race yesterday. Moonbats are still consoling themselves with the fact that the margin was only 4.5%. That's all well and good but the fact remains that Democrat candidate Francine Busby still LOST.

The folks at RedState put into context what this really means as a precursor to the Fall elections:

"Let's do a recap, shall we? Bush's approval numbers are in the 30s. These "generic Congressional ballot" numbers that we see trumpeted give Democrats wide double-digit leads. And here's the most important part:

The Democrats are running this fall on a "culture of corruption" strategy. This special election was to replace a guy who's currently sitting in jail, who had a BRIBE MENU for goodness' sake. Early in the night, the NBC affiliate in San Diego showed a clip of Busby with her supporters, and in a statement that was (apparently) in response to a question about a hypothetical situation in which she would achieve victory the way it is defined everywhere but the left side of the blogosphere, she said, "Anyone who writes this off as 'This is just because of Cunningham' is wrong." "Horror film fan Suzanne Cooper yesterday named her baby Damien after the devil child in the The Omen, who was also born on June 6.

Suzanne went one better than the movie by hitting the full Number of the Beast with the date - 6/6/06.

Special needs teacher Suzanne, 36, was also induced for six days before Damien arrived at 6.59am, tipping the scales at a spine-chilling 6lb 6oz.

Until today, the stupidest baby name I'd ever heard was when Gwyneth Paltrow named her daughter "Apple". But this moron takes the "Asshat of the Week" award, hands down.
