Now I haven't read the column, but as I read Green's fisking of it, it dawned on me just how stupid it really was. I've had a few choice words myself for Pat on occasion, but I normally don't waste my time on his rants.

As far as Conservatives go, Buchanan seems to be pushing himself farther and farther out to the lunatic fringe - becoming more isolationist, nativist and protectionist every day. It seems almost by design. My guess is that it's probably driven by his distaste for the Neocons combined with a desperate attempt to stay relevant.
